100 years of women MPs – how far have we come?

The aftermath of the First World War saw Britain try to recover from the human and economic devastation inflicted upon it.

It also brought huge social change, as the suffragette campaign for women to get the vote came to fruition.

And with female voters, came female MPs.

One hundred years ago Parliament passed the legislation which allowed women to become MPs for the first time.
